When it comes to aging in good health, social interaction is key to staying vital. A whopping 85% of physicians in a nationwide survey said that unmet social needs are directly related to worse health. Older adults, so prone to isolation and loneliness, are the most at risk.
We don’t need dry statistics, though, to confirm the importance of companionship in all of our lives — especially for those who have managed to live to a ripe old age. With so many rich experiences and knowledge to share, our elders deserve genuine connection, respect, and dignity so they can thrive. We also appreciate the pressures of modern life, and know how hard it is to be there when your loved one needs you most. You deserve care and support too, not guilt. This is what Conversation & Company is all about.
We’re not sitters for older adults. We’re actively engaged with our clients.
Getting older is a fact, but how you face aging is a choice. And it’s not an easy one. The truth is that engaging in what truly supports health, well-being and vibrancy for older adults can be challenging. It takes time, proximity, and focused attention — which many of us just don’t have.
As a former psychotherapist with experience working with both older adults and clients with mental illness, I’ve seen firsthand how profound the benefit is when people get to enjoy the kind of connection I had with my own grandmother — one that’s warm, genuine, and empathic. It’s my mission and passion to improve the quality of life of seniors in the Portland, Oregon community.
I’m here for you, and I’m here for your loved one. I’m a skilled listener, a trained relationship expert, and an interesting conversationalist. I am focused on providing my clients true connection, mental stimulation, and friendly, reliable companionship.
Our services are focused on keeping our clients’ minds sharp and spirits high. This includes:
